This Gets Pretty Icky

The surgery was at 7:30 yesterday morning. It took about two hours! My doctor's plan was to go in and scrape the tendon away from the accessory bone and shave a little off of the end of the navicular bone (the one that's supposed to be there) because the tendon has to reattach to bleeding bone then drill a hole through the bone, pull the tendon through and suture it back on itself. It is all called a Kidner Procedure... WELL, of course, the tendon was not long enough for that. he told my mom and brandon that he tugged and tugged on it (ICK) but had to anchor it with a suture and a titanium screw. he said that he could hang with all of his weight on the suture he put in and it would not break so i am guessing that is a good thing. the screw does make me a little nervous though! i am interested to see what my foot looks like!
